Sixth Form Group Mentoring

From September 2026, we are developing a new group mentoring initiative, connecting EHS alumnae with experience in Oxbridge applications, Medicine & Dentistry, or Law with current Sixth Form students preparing their applications in these fields.

Who this is for

We are looking for alumnae with experience or specialism in:

Oxbridge applications — personal statements, admissions tests, interviews

Medicine and Dentistry — UCAT, work experience, personal statements, interviews

Law — routes into the profession, applications, work experience, academic paths

You don't need to be an expert — if you went through this process yourself, or now work in the field, that's exactly the perspective students need.

Who you would be mentoring

Current EHS Sixth Form students (Years 12–13) actively preparing applications in your area of specialism.

What's involved

We haven't fixed the format yet - group size, session length, and frequency. It might be a single one-off session, an occasional Q&A, or something more regular. When you register your interest, we'll ask a bit about your availability and preferences, and use that to design something that works.

Is this different from the 1:1 mentoring on Laurels Connect?

Yes. The mentor directory on our Career Support page connects alumnae with each other, and with current students, for 1:1 mentoring. This is a separate, new initiative specifically for group sessions with Sixth Form students.

Register your interest

If this sounds like something you'd like to be part of, select your preferred group mentoring option under 'Volunteer to Become a Mentor' on your Laurels Connect profile — no commitment at this stage, just an expression of interest.

If you are not on Laurels Connect yet, log in or register first, then update your Mentoring Categories.
